1.       To maximize the safety of the public.

2.       To assist patients in obtaining qualified and safe acupuncture and TCM treatments.

3.       To contribute to the reduction of health care costs by integrating qualified acupuncture and Chinese medical services to it.

4.       To improve the efficiency of the health care system in Ontario by the application of proven and qualified acupuncture and Chinese medical services.

5.        To encourage the establishment of minimal acceptable educational standards for qualified practice of acupuncture and TCM in Ontario.

6.        To establish a professional model for acupuncturists in Ontario and also to provide a framework for the helping Government regulatory process.
